Main Features of the Centralized Course Examination Timetable

Full-time Undergraduate Programmes

 

1st term, 2009-10

 

 

1.

Examinations will be held from 9-23 December 2009 (excluding 10 December).

 

 

2.

There are three examination sessions on weekdays and one morning session on Saturdays.

 

 

1st session

9:30 – 11:30 am /12:30 pm

 

2nd session

1:30 – 3:30 pm

 

3rd session

4:15 – 6:15 pm /7:15 pm

 

 

 

Unless otherwise specified, the duration of an examination is normally 2 hours. Examinations longer than 2 hours are scheduled in the 1st and the 3rd sessions only.  Students should check the duration of each examination in their examination timetable before taking the examination.

 

 

3.

Examination Venues

 

 

(a)

Examinations to be held centrally at the University Gymnasium, Sir Run Run Shaw Hall, New Asia College Gymnasium, Thomas H C Cheung Gymnasium at United College and Room 103 John Fulton Centre will be centrally co-ordinated by a Chief Invigilator and by invigilators from the respective departments/units.

 

Candidates MUST check their seat numbers listed in their individual examination timetable or on the homepage of the Registration & Examinations Section (http://www.cuhk.edu.hk/rgs) BEFORE attending the examination.

 

 

(b)

Examinations to be held in classrooms will be conducted by the teachers and departments concerned.

 

 

4.

Paper Relationship

 

 

(a)

As specified by teachers concerned, courses with different sections but carrying the same course code and course title are selected as Common Papers. Examinations for Common Papers will be conducted at the same time in the same venue.

 

 

(b)

As specified by teachers concerned, courses which are double-coded (e.g. carrying one course code for Major students and another for General Education) are selected as Double-coded Papers. Examinations for Double-coded Papers will be conducted at the same time in the same venue.

 

5.

Examination load of each student has been taken into account when the examination timetable is compiled.  A student should take no more than 2 examinations each day.
